Visit and explore
There’s lots to explore as part of a visit – as well as our glorious historic Arcades, the Castle Quarter sits at the heart of Cardiff’s most popular visitor destinations. You can explore 2,000 years of history at Cardiff Castle, then wander through neighbouring Grade 1 listed Bute Park & Arboretum, home to its own visitor centre, cafes, tree collections and lots of wildlife.
Just beyond Cardiff Castle is the historic Civic Centre, a collection of fine historic buildings set around quiet parks. The main attraction for visitors here is the National Museum & Gallery, which hosts Wales’ national art collections and is one of the best collections of Impressionist paintings in the UK.
And within a short walk you’ll find two international sports stadia – the Principality Stadium, home to Wales’ international rugby teams and a host of other music and events through the year and Sophia Gardens, Cardiff’s Test Match and international cricket venue.
